The new drink prices

May 3, 1915
At a special meeting of the Licensed Victuallers’ Association in Chester the following prices were agreed upon: –
Ordinary spirits, 3d half-glass, 6d glass.
Special bulk whisky, 4½ half-glass, 9d glass.
Proprietary whisky, special, 5½ half-glass, 10d glass.
Extra special brand whisky, 5½ half glass, 11d glass.

The prices of beer remain as at present, but the future tariff, will be settled at another meeting this week.

A meeting of the committee of the Birkenhead and Wirral Licensed Victuallers’ Association was held to-day, under the chairmanship of Mr. James McLeavey, when it was decided to follow Liverpool with respect to increasing the charges for spirits and beer, and whatever charges are made in Liverpool similar charges will come into operation in Birkenhead and Wirral.
