High hopes for another victory

September 29, 1915
Liverpool, who go to Preston next Saturday by the 1.15 from Exchange, have been forced to make change or two. Molyneux, the ex-Norwich bird, was damaged in Saturday’s game with Burnley, and he is not able to play, so Wadsworth is called in.

Ernest Pinkney, the Gillingham-Everton forward, is taking the place of Goddard, who is probably unable to leave his “biz” on Saturday. Pinkney has not had a run with the first team so far, but he is an athletic young fellow whose mode of life ensured his earnestness and fitness at all times.

Scott and Bradley go on reserve, and Liverpool hope to make their second victory of the season, as Preston are not of much account this season.
