Denton were vanquished on their own ground by the South (2-1), but the Liverpool side all bore traces of the struggle. John Page was the chief figure, and he scored the equaliser in the last few moments, when Moore was badly beaten. Cooke and Tom Page scored.
To-morrow Hyde visit Dingle Park, and the Combination have agreed to the kick-off being 3.30 instead of 3.15, as advertised.
Hyde are contesting hotly with South Luverpool for the leading position, and the match will be well worth watching. Hyde did the unique trick of defeating Tranmere home and away, so the Dingle lads have something to meet.
South. – A. Moore; John Page, Billy Jenkinson; R. Smith, Dick Carlisle, E. Williams; H. Hall, Tom Page, H. Baines, R. Parr, and Jack Lipsham.
