We have not heard much in later months of our old friend, Maurice Parry, Welsh international, Scottish player, and well-known Liverpool player. Today, from the boys of a boat which has had some “crummy” experiences, I get news of Maurice as follows: –
“Dear Bee. – I thought you would be interested to know that Mr. Maurice Parry landed from this ship on Saturday, September 18, at Lemnos, which is the advanced base of the M.E.F. He is, as you are no doubt aware, a second lieutenant in the South Wales Borderers. Of course, he was a person of no small importance in the eyes of our crew, who are all Liverpool men. He was the life and soul of the party, and it was always he who started the music and singing. In an impromptu concert held on the last night the cry was always ‘Parry.’”
