Not a single bad match has been witnessed in Liverpool since the new style of “League” match was introduced to our notice, and I can see the Rochdale game at Anfield tomorrow keeping up the was session standard, for Rochdale gave Everton an excellent game last week, and only surrendered by a single goal.
They are sure to play Liverpool at their own game, and that is the reason why a rousing game is pretty certain to be the outcome of the meeting. Liverpool announced their team this morning, and it makes interesting reading.
Speakman joins up with Middlehurst in Longworth’s absence, and Molyneux, after his ankle injury, comes back to the centre half post.
Forward we have Henderson again in the side. Henderson, it has not yet been stated, formerly played with Egremont, and was recommended to the Goodison Park Club.
Mackinlay has been shooting hard and true this season, and he’s been leaning up against the forward line, so that it is wise, in view of Wadsworth’s appearance at wing half, that Mackinlay should be tried at outside left.
Liverpool. – Kenneth Campbell, Sam Speakman, James Middlehurst, Thomas Fairfoull, William Molyneux, Walter Wadsworth, Arthur Goddard, William Banks, Fred Pagnam, James Henderson, Donald Mackinlay.
