A letter from Jack Sheldon

December 2, 1915
To-day the postbag contains a letter from Jack Sheldon, the former outside right of Liverpool F.C. He says: –
No. 1695 B Company,
17th Middlesex,
B.E.F.
Arrived in France last Wednesday, after a long tedious journey.
All the lads are in the pink of condition, and are as well as can be expected, taking billets into consideration – barns, and not very good at that! I think from my part the lads are more cheerful here than they were on Salisbury Plain.
Please will you forward Saturday’s “Football Echo.”
Please remember me to all my pals in Liverpool. –
Jack Sheldon.
