Former Liverpool-footballer killed in France

News has been received in Liverpool of the death in action in France of David Murray, who was a prominent figure in English League football a few years ago. Murray came from Scotland, and his first club was Newcastle United. He spent a short period with Everton, and a long period with Liverpool F.C., after which he did Leeds City good service. Murray had been through the battles of Loos and Hill 70 without getting a scratch. His death was caused through a shell bursting near him.

** Note, Murray died apparently on December 10, but news was received later. I have not found him connected with Newcastle United,
