Liverpool announce that Donald Mackinlay and Fred Pagnam are injured. Bandsman Norman Bradley, now fit, will come from Blackpool to take up his old place in the half-back line, and Walter Wadsworth (whose appearances make him somewhat of a jack-in-the-box) comes in for Mackinlay. Wilfred Watson operates at centre, and William Banks at inside right, and it will be curious to see how the Anfielders shape at a ground where they have struck winning ways.
