Lancashire man, George Chapman, helped himself to all the goals scored by Blackburn – a rare feat, six out of six. Chapman’s father was one-time trainer of the Liverpool club, and young George used to keep guard on the Press-box members at Anfield-road. After a period of Scottish football he was “wanted” by Everton, who, as in the Jock Simpson case, was beaten by a “short head,” which in football means – a longer price.
