Arthur Gee to play for Liverpool

Thursday, January 18 – 1917
Metcalf was damaged in Saturday’s game at Burnley, and Liverpool have made a surprising selection – no other than Gee, the Oldham live-wire, Gee is the black haired forward who has scored many goals for the Boundary Park team.

His appearance, as also that of Butler, the big Sunderland man, will make local football followers keen to see Saturday’s game with Manchester United, for United have come on a lot lately, and Liverpool, after their unexpected win at Burnley, will command a large following.

The home side will be: Butler; Longworth, Lucas; Bamber, Wadsworth, Mackinlay; Goddard, Gee, Bennett, Lewis, Cunliffe.
The kick off is at 3 o’clock.
