Season preview 1917-18: Clapton Orient F.C. (Sport Argus)

August 25, 1917
Clapton Orient are fortunate in being able to call upon practically the whole of the players who assisted them last season.

The new men are Hodson, inside forward, from Burnley; Ayres, outside left, from Leytonstone; and Bullock, full back, of Crystal Palace.

New goalkeepers are Watkins, with Tottenham Hotspur last season, and Hoffman, employed at a local munition factory. Cushway, the Leytonstone full back, will also assist.

Lieutenant James Hugall, the Orient goalkeeper, is again wounded, and is a hospital patient at Denmark Hill.
