The death has taken place of Archibald Freebairn, a former well-known player of Partick Thistle and Bolton Wanderers. He joined the latter when they played at the old Pike’s-lane enclosure, and migrated with them to Burden Park, where he captained the Wanderers’ team for several years.
Freebairn was a member of the team that met Manchester City in the Cup Final in 1904, when a goal score by Meredith enabled the City to win.
