Saturday’s card presents Merseyside with further tough struggles. Rochdale near half-time were getting something like the measure of Liverpool, who, however, will have a stronger side on Saturday at Spotland. Liverpool having scored merrily, and having really pulverised Rochdale’s defence, should have their rivals guessing before the game starts.
Rochdale make several changes. Kay will be back in goal vice Lee, and Crossan is down to resume half-back, Tully coming in at left half-back, while O’Connell is included at inside right. At outside right either Jones or Sheldon (the latter having played with Everton and Southport) will do duty.
The selected players are: Tom Kay, Harry Millership, Danny Crossan, Wilfred Bunting, Tweedale Rigg, Jim Tully, A. Jones (or Frank Sheldon), Pat O’Connell, Tom Page, Billy Halligan, Albert Smith.
