George Latham, the ex-Liverpool and Cardiff player, has now had a bar added to his first honour, the Military Cross. Latham, originally a tailor, was half back who played many years in international football – he was a Welshman as nearly everyone knows, and a dour dogged played he was, too.
After years of service with Liverpool he went to Cardiff as a player, and later became trainer to the club. The news of his latest award will make pleasant reading to all Liverpool football enthusiasts.
Latham, by the way, is now in Palestine.
