Having had the record trimmed, Liverpool F.C. can now get on with their work of trying to win the Lancashire Championship. Tomorrow they run across a side that has all in a minute come to its best shooting power, and therefore it behoves Liverpool’s players to steady up and take full measure of their rivals from Oldham.
The Athletic, headed by that rare enthusiast, David Wilson, is always respected here, because Wilson infuses such bite into the fellows in his charge that the Athletic have ever been dogged to the last, no matter what score may have been put up against them.
Wilson acts as well as talks. He sets the right example.
Anfield should be well filled tomorrow at 2.30, when the champions resume operations, the teams being:
Liverpool: Tommy Haughton, Ephraim Longworth, Billy Jenkinson, John Bamber, Walter Wadsworth, Donald Mackinlay, Robert Waine, Arthur Metcalf, Tommy Bennett, Harry Lewis, George Schofield.
