Liverpool at Oldham

December 28, 1917
This doesn’t look as happy as many imagine. Oldham, on their own ground, are a proposition; and remembering how tenaciously the Oldham defence hung on to the Liverpool forwards a week ago the match cannot be regarded as a soft thing. All clubs are out to equal Rochdale’s record, and therefore Liverpool have always to be at concert pitch.

Liverpool: Tommy Haughton, Ephraim Longworth, Billy Jenkinson, John Bamber, Walter Wadsworth, Donald Mackinlay, Robert Waine, Arthur Metcalf, Tommy Bennett, Harry Lewis, George Schofield.
