Aston Villa F.C. balance sheet 1917-18

The Aston Villa F.C. balance sheet, published last evening shows a loss on the year of £976. Match expenses amounted to £217, and general expenses, including £268 for ground maintenance and £314 for salaries, to £704. The total expenditure was £1,046. The gate money was £1,366, all of which was paid away to charities.

Of the Villa pre-war players, 23 have joined the Army or Navy, and the remainder are engaged making munitions or on Government work. Three have been killed and five wounded.
