The annual meeting of the Aston Villa Football Club was held last evening. Mr. Joseph Ansell, who presided, said it would be unthinkable to attempt to play football on the old lines during the war, but what football they had played had enabled them to purchase an Aston Villa Ambulance for the use of the Red Cross, and it was one worthy of the standing of the club. The cost has been approximately £1,000. (applause.) The destination of the car had not yet been settled.
The directors and the president were re-elected, as were the vice-presidents, Dr. Vincent Jones being selected in place of Mr. Whitehouse.
