Liverpool, at Oldham, will find that the Athletic have looked up old and new stocks in the hope that the tide may turn, but I do not imagine that the Oldham men can hold the live line that leads Liverpool, Green, at centre, being a “hit or miss” shooter – very valuable at centre; and Phillips, the boy debutant, being quite above the ordinary run of junior who is put on trial.

Liverpool. – Wiliam Scott; Sam Speakman, Billy Jenkinson; John Bamber, Walter Wadsworth, Donald Mackinlay; Harold Wadsworth, Arthur Metcalf, Thomas Green, Harry Lewis, Reg Phillips.
