Charity match on New Year’s day

December 31, 1918
A team representing Liverpool and district will oppose a Southport and district eleven at football on New Year’s day, on Southport Vulcan’s ground, Ash-lane, in aid of the fund of the Discharged and Disabled Sailors’ and Soldiers’ Federation.

In the interest of charity the secretary of the Liverpool Football League has raised a team of well-known players in the Liverpool League to oppose a Southport District team. Kick-off 2.30 p.m.

League team: – Adamson (Port Sunlight); Collins (Everton), Williams (Allerton); Bamber (Grayson’s South), Oates (Denton), Monaghan (St Cleopas); Taylor (Oldham A.), Monaygh (Hoylake), Owens (Brom. P), Simpson (Kirkdale), Taylor (Kirkdale).
