Football League meeting (April 26, 1919)

April 26, 1919
After the match at Liverpool on Saturday, the Selection Committee of the Scottish and English Football Association met and selected the following teams for the return international game to be played at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on Saturday: –

Scotland – James Brownlie (Morton), Alex McNair (Celtic), James Blair (Rangers), James Gordon (Rangers), Jacky Wright (Morton), Jimmy McMullan (Partick Thistle), James Reid (Airdrieonians / Bolton Wanderers), James Bowie (Rangers), Andrew Wilson (Hearts / Middlesbrough), James McMenemy (Celtic), Alan Morton (Queen’s Park).

England – Sam Hardy (Aston Villa), Ephraim Longworth (Liverpool, and captain), Fred Duckworth (Blackburn Rovers), Tom Fleetwood (Everton), Joe McCall (Preston North End), Arthur Grimsdell (Tottenham Hotspur), Robert Turnbull (Bradford), Danny Shea (Blackburn Rovers), Syd Puddefoot (West Ham), Joe Smith (Bolton Wanderers), Harry Martin (Sunderland).

The English team is the same as drew at Liverpool, and there are two changes in the Scottish side. The defence is the same, but at outside right Donaldson (Arthurlie) is displaced J. Reid, the centre forward of Airdrieonians, the choice being a surprise. At centre forward A. Wilson (Heart of Midlothian) takes the place of Richardson (Ayr United).
