The Liverpool football team has been in training at Blackpool this week for the cup-tie with Birmingham tomorrow, and during the week the opportunity was taken of watching the match on Wednesday in the Fylde League Competition, and being struck with the display of Ted Wade, the centre forward in the Central Amateurs, Mr. Ashworth, the manager, signed him as an amateur and promised that he should be given a game tomorrow week.
Wade, who is 19 years of age, has scored 78 goals this season.
The Liverpool club are also after another player in the Fylde League. Yesterday they completed agreements for the transfer from the Blackpool F.C. of John Martin, an inside forward. Martin has only been in the Blackpool club this season, but has not appeared in many matches. At Deepdale a few weeks ago he played a good game against North End reserves.
