In the Home-Scots v. Anglo-Scots trial match at Cathkin on Tuesday, William Watson, the Airdrie left back, is standing down in the former team, and his place will be taken by “Napper” Thomson. This game should fully test “Napper’s” abilities, and if he impressed here he will stand a favourable chance of being chosen against England.
Troup is, of course, also included in the Home-Scots team, and as Jack Paterson (Leicester), the ex. Dundee forward, is also on view Dundee will be well represented.
The teams are: –
Home Scots – Thomas Blair (Kilmarnock); Robert McGrory (Dumbarton) and David Thomson (Dundee); James Scott (Dumbarton), Alex Gillespie (Ayr), and James Walls (Rangers); Alex Archibald (Rangers), John Crosbie (Ayr), Arthur Lockhead (Hearts), Thomas Cairns (Rangers), and Alex Troup (Dundee).
Anglo-Scots – Jock Ewart (Bradford C.); Jock Marshall (Middlesbrough) and Donald Mackinlay (Liverpool); Robert Pursell (Port Vale), Willie Low (Barnsley), and Jock Finlay (Newcastle); William Aitken (Port Vale), Tom Miller (Liverpool), David McLean (Bradford), Jack Paterson (Leicester), and Robert McNeil (Chelsea).
