Sunderland v Liverpool 0-1 (League match: May 1, 1920)

May 1, 1920
Key note: “Liverpool had to thank their defence for being able to bring away both points. Sunderland did quite as much attacking as Liverpool, but they always found the visitors’ defence very strong. Scott made many fine saves, and Longworth and Mackinlay kicked and tackled fearlessly. Ten minutes from the interval, from a corner, Chambers headed past Dempster into the net. The match was for the benefit of Bob Kyle, the Sunderland secretary, who has completed fifteen years’ service with the club, and there was a crowd of about 30,000.” (Liverpool Echo: May 3, 1920)
