Liverpool F.C.’s profit on season was £11,945

The Liverpool Football Club’s annual report and balance-sheet shows a profit of £11,945 on the year’s working. Gate receipts, owing to the increased prices for admission, reached the unprecedented entertainment tax, percentages to visiting clubs and the Football Association, yielded a net income of £32,800. Players wages absorbed £8,104, benefits £1,342, and travelling and training expenses £2,571. The total income was £32,987, and the expenditure £21,042.

At the annual meeting of the shareholders, which will be held to-morrow evening, the directors will recommend the payment of a dividend of 17½ per cent (less income tax), being 7½ per cent. in respect of the period to May 15, 1920, and 5 per cent. for each of the two preceding years. The retiring directors are Messrs. John Asbury, John McKenna and Richard Lawson Martindale Snr.

Doctors fees and medicine:
** £76 17s. 1d.
Referees and linesmen’s expenses:
** £217 8s. 11d.
Clothing expenses and stores:
** £93 6s. 6d.
Subscriptions and contributions:
** £44 19s.
Advertising, printing and bill-posting:
** £210 3s. 7d.
Rates, income tax, mortgage and other insurances:
** £1,432 13s. 1d.
Office expenses, telephone, stationery, &c.:
** £49 2s. 10d.
General charges, including refreshment, fuel, lightning, water, audit &c.:
** £560 5s. 6d.
Office salaries:
** £431.
Total: £21,041 18s. 2d.

Gate receipts – League and Central League:
** £38,434 15s. 3d.
Less entertainment tax:
** £8,677 11s. 8.
Less 20% to visiting clubs:
** £6,035 10s. 1d.
Less ½% to Football League:
** £133 15s.
Total: £14,746 16s. 9.

Received from away matches:
** £4,261 19s 2d.
Net proceeds:
** £27,950 17s. 3d.

Gate receipts, Cup ties home:

Less entertainment tax:
