There are no startling changes at Liverpool. Ephraim Longworth, back from South Africa, will again captain the side, and in the early part of the season, at any rate the players will be much the same as a few months ago, when the fourth position was secured. Additions to the playing strength include John Scott, goal, and Harry McNaughton, goal. Scott is a brother of the first-team “keeper,” and McNaughton last played for St. Bernard’s.
The players engaged are: –
Goal: Elisha Scott, John Scott, Harry McNaughton, and Howard Baker (amateur champion high jumper).
Backs: Ephraim Longworth, Donald Mackinlay, Tommy Lucas, Billy Jenkinson, Jim Penman.
Half-backs: John Bamber, Walter Wadsworth, Tom Bromilow, William Lacey, Billy Matthews, Frank Checkland, John McNab, William Cunningham, John Ford.
Forwards: Jack Sheldon, Dick Forshaw, Tom Miller, Harry Chambers, John Miller, Albert Pearson, Harry Lewis, Harold Wadsworth, Dick Johnson, Peter McKinney, Tommy Cox, William Wilson.
