Train mishap for Liverpool players

April 12, 1929
The Liverpool footballers, on their way to Derby last night, were involved in a slight train mishap at Cheadle Heath, near Manchester. The saloon in which they were traveling becoming derailed during some shunting operations and the players were somewhat shaken. Fortunately none were injured, and to-day they regarded the matter as of a trivial nature. It appears, however, that the results might have been much more serious for the saloon was got back on the line only about five minutes before the Manchester express dashed past on the adjoining track.
