Windsor Park, Belfast, was Saturday the scene of the first international match of the season, when Ireland met England for the 36th time. Selecting no fewer than seven men for the first time, England had practically a new team, of which good things were expected.
Tommy Lucas, Liverpool’s right back appeared on the left back position.
For Ireland appeared Elisha Scott (goalkeeper) and William Lacey (outside right). The match finished 1-1.
