John McKenna honoured with the long service medal

Mr. John McKenna preside at the annual meeting of the Football League held in London on Monday. His colleagues paid him warm tributes, and the management committee were of the opinion that the presentation of the long service medal to their president was totally inadequate as a recognition of the services he had rendered to the League and football generally. Mr. McKenna, was therefore, presented with a silver gilt casket to celebrate the occasion, the casket containing a scroll headed “From the Football League to John McKenna, Esq., President and Life Member, 1902-23.”

Others to receive the long service medal were Mr. F. Everiss, secretary of West Bromwich Albion, and Mr. A. Fairclough, now with Leeds United.
