Liverpool without their engine

October 6, 1923
Liverpool only just managed to scramble home against Burnley last week, their attack being like a motor with a soothed plug owing to the absence of Harry Chambers. His position was taken by the ex-Garston youth, George Harold Beadles who once showed rare promise as a centre-forward, but who has been coached as an inside left for some months. He was not at all happy in this game.
