Liverpool have spent a tidy sum of money in securing the transfer of Archie Rawlings from Preston North End.
Rawlings lost his place to Alf Quantrill at Deepdale this season, and as he is not the sort of player to play second fiddle to any man, he has been after his transfer for some time. His going to Anfield is suggestive that William Lacey’s football career is about finished.
