William Devlin’s happy debut

May 9, 1927
Liverpool secured the services of William Devlin from Huddersfield just in time to permit of his playing in the final League game at West Ham, and the player had the distinction of scoring on his first association with his new colleagues.

Huddersfield are reputed to have paid Cowdenbeath over £4,000 for the player but, we understand, little more than half this sum has been expended by Liverpool.
