Season preview 1927/28 – Wrexham F.C. (The Athletic News)

Monday, August 1 – 1927
Wrexham, who made nearly £500 last season, make no secret of their promotion ambitions. They believe the district can well afford Second Division football, and gates of £1,790 at representative matches support that theory. Hitherto the club has not cut a big swathe in the Third Division.

Reliance will be largely placed upon well-tried players, of whom the newcomers are R.T. Woodhouse (Preston and Everton) and G. Bellis, transferred from Southport. Among the 25 men half-backs are plentiful, but the number of full-backs does not seem big enough.
