Tommy Reid, who got so many goals when he played with Clydebank as a centre forward, was never quite nippy enough for the Liverpool leadership in English football, but he is doing extremely well now as an inside left. His “hat trick” of goals against the Wednesday, performed when he had suffered an injury, was as plucky a performance as any seen on the ground. Harry Chambers will never get his place back now.
