Wednesday’s smart win at Liverpool
The Wednesday Reserves accomplished a smart performance yesterday afternoon when they defeated Liverpool Reserves at Anfield by four goals to one. Throughout they were the better side, and the result was never in doubt after they secured the lead midway through the first half, Prince scoring the opening goal for the Wednesday, and Strange increased the lead a little before the interval.

Crossing over two goals to the good, the Wednesday continued to force the game, but Liverpool were unfortunate when Felton cleared a shot from Kerry from under the bar, with Mellors well beaten.

Kerry did eventually find the net for Liverpool, but not before Powell had put on Wednesday’s third goal. A few minutes before the end, Allen completed the scoring with the best goal of the game.
