New role for Neil McBain at Watford

Wednesday, May 8 – 1929
It was officially announced last night, following a meeting of the Watford directors, that Neil McBain, the ex-St. Johnstone and Scottish internationalist half-back, had been appointed player-manager of the club.

McBain was signed by Watford last November after the suspension of Frank Barson, and as captain and centre half he has brought Watford to a high position in the Southern Section of the Third Division.

McBain succeed Fred Pagnam, whose services were not retained as manager.
