March 14, 1930
Disappointment has been caused at Doncaster by the fact that the player who did so well at centre-half against Mansfield under an assumed named has signed amateur form for Liverpool.

After the Mansfield match he had an interview with the Doncaster Rovers directors, and it was expected that he would turn out yesterday against Notts County Reserves in the Midland League match, and discus the question of signing on later.

However, he has thrown in his lot with the Anfield club, and will turn out with their Central League side to-morrow.

His name is Alf Roe, and is an analytical chemist at Sheffield. He is 21, and stands about 5ft. 10in.
