William Devlin, the ex-Cowdenbeath, Liverpool, and Huddersfield centre-forward, joined Burton Town last night. He signed on within an hour of arriving in Burton from Glasgow.
Devlin travelled to Shrewsbury today, and was included at centre-forward in place of Staley.
Devlin, a strong, bustling type of forward, cost Huddersfield Town £4,500 when he came south from Cowdenbeath.
Two seasons ago Huddersfield wanted £5,000 for him. At that time he had a shop in Macclesfield, and played several games for the local club in the Cheshire League.
