Mr. Johnny Best, the Liverpool boxing promoter, is making strenuous efforts to match Johnny Cuthbert and Nel Tarleton for the British featherweight title. He now plans for the contenders to meet on the ground of Liverpool F.C. at Anfield.
The holding capacity of the ground has never been taxed to its utmost, but it is estimated that accommodation can be found for 75,000 spectators.
Cuthbert received a letter from Mr. Best yesterday, but is waiting until the return of his father, who is having a short holiday, before coming to any decision.
