The death of Ernest Peake

November 19, 1931
Ernest Peake, who played for Blyth Spartans after he had established his fame as a centre half-back with Liverpool and in international games for Wales, has died at Ton Pentre (Wales). A native of Aberystwyth, Peake played for the Aberystwyth Town club when only 15 years of age.

He played for the Spartans in 1919-20 season, and is still vividly remembered by the Blyth enthusiasts as a remarkable player and a great personality. After leaving Croft Park he was player-manager for Aberaman.
