Nel Tarleton, the British featherweight champion, and Al Brown, the Panama holder of the world’s bantam-weight championship, fought a draw over 15 rounds on the Liverpool Football Club’s ground last night, which was described by Mr. Johnny Best, the promoter, as a “real semi-final” for the world’s featherweight title.
Between two of the speediest, cleverest, and generally acclaimed masters of ring-craft a perfect exhibition of boxing skill was expected, and the 35,000 spectators were not disappointed.
