William Ryott, the Liverpool footballer, of Picton Terrace, Newcastle, has died in Newcastle infirmary following a motor accident yesterday.
Ryott was driving a delivery van when, in an attempt to avoid a lorry, he swerved and skidded broadside on in front of a Corporation bus. The van was wrecked and Ryott was pinned beneath the wreckage.
Ryott was home on leave prior to rejoining the Liverpool team. He formerly played with Newcastle United Reserves, and then went to Carlisle.
