Dick Johnson, the former Liverpool and New Brighton footballer, is seriously ill. Dick was always a very generous and whole-hearted player, and it is, therefore, pleasing to find friends promoting a bowling tournament for his benefit.
The match, which is between Harry Baines (Stanley Arms) and Reg Lloyd (Farmers’ Arms) will take place at the Farmers’ Arms Hotel, Clubmoor, next Wednesday at seven o’clock. Forty-one up is the distance, and Mr. John Ward is hopeful of getting there to referee. It is an excellent cause, and Johnson has done much to deserve this of his friends.
