Tommy Lucas, who has rendered splendid service for many years to Liverpool F.C., was yesterday transferred to Clapton Orient. In 1922 Lucas appeared for England at back against Ireland.

Actually, Lucas played for England in 1921 in what I’m pretty sure was his only full cap. On 22 October 1921 he represented England at Windsor Park, Belfast. The game ended a 1-1 draw and two of his LFC teammates, Elisha Scott and Billy Lacey, played in the Irish side.
In 1922 Lucas played in two more internationals, but one was an inter-league match and the other was a trial match.
