William Devlin: a rolling stone

August 29, 1933
William Devlin, the much traveled Scottish centre forward, is on the move again. Cowdenbeath, Preston North End, Huddersfield Town, Hearts, and other League clubs have had the benefit of his services. And now he is off to Switzerland.

The Zurich F.C. secretary cabled their English agent for an inside forward, and the latter got in touch with Devlin, whose home is in Glasgow. Willie crossed the Border at the week-end, accepted the Zurich club’s terms, and went off to his continental destination by the air route.
