John Deacon, of Darlington, who has recently been appearing with the Redcar Borough side, was yesterday signed on as a professional by Liverpool after he had played in a trial match and scored the equalising goal at Oldham.
Deacon, who is aged 18, lives at Springfield, Darlington. He formerly played for Cockfield in the Northern League.
