The fight between Kid Berg, the Stepney light-weight, and Gustav Humery, of France, which was to have taken place at the Stade Roland Garros on June 7 has been cancelled, says Reuter’s Paris message.
Jimmy Stewart, of Liverpool, who recently beat Berg, was asked to act as substitute for Berg in this fight, but he had to refuse owing to an injury to his right hand during his fight with Berg.
Mr. Johnny Best, the Liverpool boxing promoter, has offered Harry Milezr a guarantee of £500 or option of 20 per cent of the “gate” to defend his British light-weight championship on the Liverpool Football Club’s ground at Anfield against Jimmy Stewart, of Liverpool.
