Leicester officials have paid a good deal of attention lately to Liverpool reserve games. If Barry Nieuwenhuys, the South African winger, is the magnet – as there is good reason to believe – the Filberts will be out of luck. “Nivvy” is a fixture at Anfield Road.
Speaking of the Anfield club, it will not be surprising to hear that they are ready to entertain offers for some of their clever reserve players in order to balance the cash book. The signing of Tommy Cooper made a hole in the money box and a sale or two is the most likely sequel. Look out for news of Sam English, Archie Macpherson, and Bobby Done.
