Darlington have secured the signature on amateur forms of Jack Shield, centre half, of Bishop Auckland, who played four games for ‘Pools Reserves towards the close of last season.
Shield is to have his first outing with the Darlington reserve team against Crook at Feethams tomorrow.
Shield, who comes from Sacriston, has been playing especially well in Northern League football, and several clubs have taken an interest in him. Bishop Auckland, however, are not to lose him altogether, for he will continue to assist them in Amateur Cup games and possibly other matches.
