It is reported, on good authority, that George Ainsley, the Sunderland reserve centre or inside forward, will join Brentford before the end of the season. Ainsley is the tallest player on the books of the Roker Park club and stands just over 6ft. He came to Sunderland from a South Shields minor club three years ago and has made only four appearances with the first-class side – one in 1932-33 and three last season. He has been a consistent scorer with the reserves. It is understood that the London club has already sounded Sunderland with a view to securing his transfer.
